Up for sale is my 1990 BMW K1. I have owned and enjoyed this very unique motorcycle for many years now. As the time passes along, I am moving away from larger capacity two-wheeled sports, hence the sale of my 2 very unique motorcycles.
The BMW K1 was designed out of a response to tightening European Union legislations on emissions in Germany, and also to show the motorcycling community that BMW were able to build more than just clunky and slow flat twins. The reslult was was a highly stylized and fully faired (7 piece faring) Sport Touring bike capable of very high, sustained speeds. The BMW engineneers would break tradition from flat twin airhead designs and give the public an longitudinal 4 cylinder engine mated to BMW's shaft driven final drive.
With a reported 11.0:1 compression ration and 100 bhp, and the bold new color schemes, this was not your father's BMW. It was very well recieved at its debut and higly acclaimed in period magazine tests for both the smooth and linear torque curves and road holding abilities.
Fully serviced in 2017, this BMW is road ready for the next custodian. Please bid with confidence. Look closely at the pictures. This bike has covered just over 25k miles and has very light wear commensurate with its age. Please ask any questions along the way. I will aswer them in a timely manner.
